TOMALALA Personal Graduate Collection
Winter 2024
TOMALALA explores the deep-rooted feeling of impostor syndrome and the pressures of hustle culture, drawing inspiration from my childhood memories with my grandmothers. Growing up, their unwavering love and support created a sense of comfort and dependability that contrasts with the hard expectations of my parents. The collection reflects this tension—between validation from others and the struggle to believe in yourself. By revisiting fond moments, like my grandmas picking me up from school and nurturing me, I reimagine them picking me up from my corporate job, offering the same care in a different world.

KONVICKS Interactive Fashion Exhibit
Fall 2023
KONVICKS was a narrative-driven collection inspired by the Russian crime miniseries Brigada and the broader European criminal underworld. Each look represented a character from an imagined criminal universe, reflecting their journey from petty thugs to mafia power players. I developed backstories for each character, styled six distinct looks, and created one look myself. The collection was showcased in the KONVICKS fashion exhibit, which I also promoted through social media to highlight the aesthetic direction and bring the characters to life. This project allowed me to combine storytelling with fashion, blending narrative with visual identity.

Listen to the original music mix by @bishopexists premiered at the Interactive Exhibit on December 14, 2023.

HODO Garment Exploration
Winter 2024
HODO was a collection that explored the HODO HODO design concept by Taku Satoh, focusing on creating garments without traditional pattern drafting. My task was to make shirts and pants, but not in the conventional sense, allowing the fabric to express itself naturally. I used wool, cotton, and linen to experiment with how minimal design could transform fabric into wearable, functional pieces. The result was an exploration of shape and form, where the garments became a study in simplicity and fabric movement, free from the usual constraints of drafting.

A TASTE OF FRIENDSHIP Assigned Project
Fall 2023
A TASTE OF FRIENDSHIP was a collection where the concept was given to us, and we were tasked with interpreting it to create our own garments using the provided fabrics. I drew inspiration from boxing, using it as a metaphor for how society consumes violence for entertainment, watching fighters beat each other for money and spectacle. I designed a boxer’s gown, incorporating traditional craft techniques, and transformed it into a double-breasted coat with a unique closure system, reflecting the complex relationship between community, competition, and consumption.

SINK OR SWIM Conceptual Framework
Summer 2024
Sink Or Swim was a concept I developed to showcase my artistic direction and conceptual thinking as a designer. Through extensive research, I aimed to explore the creative process and demonstrate how I approach design from a conceptual standpoint. While the project was primarily focused on expressing ideas, only one item was brought to life: the ditty bag. This piece was designed, manufactured, and promoted, eventually leading to its successful sale. The project serves as an insight into my design philosophy and my ability to turn abstract concepts into tangible, wearable pieces.
